Counseling Center at ChathamU

Our mental health professionals at the Counseling Center offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space available to all registered students during the academic semesters at no charge. We offer initial concise appointments, individual therapy, support groups, crisis appointments, and outreach programs for classes and groups.

If you are experiencing a crisis, please use the following resources:

  • Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. & 1:30 - 5:00 p.m. — Call 412-365-1282

  • Outside of those hours/on holidays — call Public Safety at 412-365-1111, or contact your RA

JED Campus

The JED Campus initiative promotes a comprehensive public health approach to improving students’ emotional wellbeing, preventing suicide, and decreasing substance misuse.

Our Mission

The mission of the Chatham University’s Counseling Center is to provide high quality psychological and prevention-based, culturally-sensitive services aimed at promoting the overall wellness/well-being and success of our entire diverse student community. As part of our role in higher education, we also contribute to the advancement in the field of psychology through the training of graduate students and emerging professionals to offer excellent, culturally-sensitive care.

ChathamU Counseling Center-Excela Health Doctoral Internship

Our developmentally based and culturally informed internship is designed to help you achieve your aspirations of becoming a Health Service Psychologist. Our internship prepares you to meet your career goal and our profession wide competencies through clinical experiences, training seminars, supervision, and time for self-reflection.
