College is a wonderful but also stressful time. Chatham's Counseling Center provides counseling and other wellness-based services for students. We are committed to helping you meet your academic and career goals, to promote your emotional well-being, and to support you if you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, concerns related to identities you hold, and more.

At the Counseling Center, we offer initial concise appointmentsindividual therapy, support groups, walk-in consultation, and crisis appointmentsWe also provide outreach programs for classes and campus-based groups.  Students who would like to schedule an appointment can call us at 412-365-1282 or can log into MyChatham, go to the Counseling Center, and complete the online forms.

We can support you with bridge sessions while you connect with a provider in the community. Full-time current students may receive ongoing counseling. For part-time students, we are happy to connect you to community resources.

Our Counseling Center is also a training site. We supervise students who are in master’s and doctoral students in mental health professions. Chatham students may meet with a practicum student or a permanent staff member.

Counseling Request Forms

Forms submitted online are reviewed only during our open hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 - 5 p.m.

Forms are not reviewed when the office is closed, during lunch, evenings, weekends, and university holidays.

Concise Appointments

25-30-minute-long sessions that include a brief intake and the first steps toward meeting your goals.

Individual Therapy

Individual counseling for students who may be experiencing personal, social, family, or academic concerns. These sessions provide the opportunity to freely explore any personal issues.

Group Counseling

We offer support groups on a variety of topics each semester. Examples include support groups on many support groups for LGBTQ+ students, BIPOC students and more.

Outreach Programs

We offer outreach programming on a variety of topics, including procrastination and time management; good sleep habits; assertiveness; unplugging from social media; test anxiety; adjustment to campus; stress management; assertiveness; and more.
